Pitchandikulam Forest was established in 1973 as a pioneering green belt community in Auroville, working to bring back the indigenous forest to the badly-eroded township site.
We work throughout the Auroville bio-region in helping people to plant trees, use plants for healing and understand how the forest can boost the local economy.
Auroville is an experimental township in Tamil Nadu, South India that seeks to realise human unity, where all men and women can live in peace and harmony, beyond divisions of creed, politics and nationality.
